Where Once There Was a Wood

by Denise Fleming

One Potato Review

A gorgeously rendered, and refreshingly confrontational challenge to suburban sprawl. This sneaks up on you – through creeks and golden meadows and glittering habitats that suddenly. Aren’t. There. The civil sounding postscript goes looking for solutions in the miniature (“When planning your backyard habitat, consider the climate, location, and soil of the area…”) but readers are likely to have reached their opinions already. Outrage for beginners. A suitable cause.
