Snow (Shulevitz)

by Uri Shulevitz

One Potato Review

Shulevitz’s illustrations – of city landscapes and haughty old ladies and fanciful creatures apparently hatched from a child’s imagination – make this more beautiful than Crockett Johnson’s classic, but in some ways this is like The Carrot Seed delivering from the sky. Everything is discouragement, “but snowflakes don’t listen to radio. Snowflakes don’t watch television. All snowflakes know is snow, snow and snow.”
