One Potato Review

Far-flung and gruesome: between a sharp-toothed mountain of treacherous monkeys, and a man-roasting giant whom seven wayward sailors actually manage to escape by jamming sharp bamboo sticks into his fiery eyes. Only two of those sailors end up making it to another apparently deserted island where - alas and gadzooks! – not a minute can pass before they are set upon by a crocodile, a rhinoceros and, lastly, a dragon-size snake who makes himself a sailor-size appetizer, leaving Sindbad fatefully alone with his wits, and resolutions – “I will never travel again” – and a promise of many more stories to follow. This one may keep you for a bit. In suitably lurid colors and Oriental splendor, here is a telling that manages to remain faithful to it exotic origins.
