Mind Your Manners, B. B. Wolf

by Judy Sierra
Illustrated by J. Otto Seibold

One Potato Review

This isn’t so much a book about manners as self-control, and poor B.B. Wolf has our sympathies from the beginning. He may be living in a retirement home, but he’s hardly at peace, and seems genuinely committed to setting the record straight. Because everybody has impulses, right? There’s a lot of really funny stuff going on in the margins here: Frankenstein reading Variety magazine, a bill in the mail for sheep’s clothing, a host of celebrity cameos - is that Humpty Dumpty? Elmer the Elephant? Look! The Little Engine That Could! Burping isn’t really the problem in the end; cookies are. Because that Gingerbread Boy was always kind of asking for it, wasn’t he?
