The Books
One Potato Review
Bodaciously better and brighter than just about any other book out there about the fantastic lies we use as excuses for being late. This story follows a familiar trajectory – but rattlesnakes? Cowboy boots? Whopperiferous? There’s magic in the language – even poetry – and Adinolfi’s vivid and gravity-mocking illustrations make this one of the great (neglected) classics of its time. After many, many readings it still holds up. Odd, bursting with energy, and pure-d surprising.
