The Books
One Potato Review
A sort of a bookend to Florence Parry Heide’s Some Things Are Scary (No Matter How Old You Are). Catalogues some of the “awesome” kinds of courage like climbing mountains and jumping off diving boards, still what’s equally readable – and potentially invaluable – for children of many ages are the quieter forms that courage can take like “being the new kid on the block and saying, flat out, “Hi, my name is Wayne. What’s yours?” And then a conclusion that we can all take comfort in: “Courage is what we give to each other.” Endlessly readable: You get a lot for the price tag on this one.
