One Potato Review
Once again, thanks to Shulevitz for mentioning poverty and hunger. This is nominally a fable about needing to travel far to discover the opportunities that were already near, but it’s finally also a reminder about the randomness of fortune, and the obligations that come with it. A little gnomic perhaps, and nowhere near as heartfelt or sweeping (or autobiographical) as How I Learned Geography, still beautiful to look at – there are mountains here, and forests, and steeply winding villages - by an artist who knows his panoramas.
