The Books
One Potato Review
We see dead people. But only for a page: the rest of this book is a quiet and surprisingly insightful imagining of one country’s invasion of another, though by the end it’s pretty clear which one does most of the conquering. This from the creator of Elmer, that rainbow-colored elephant who is seemingly everywhere – toy stores and televisions and beds – while this book is predictably not. Still don’t worry. With simple illustrations reminiscent of John Burningham, and short, unthreatening prose.
