Boy wants a dog, settles for a dragon. Dragon proves… challenging, perhaps to be predicted from his cool-guy shades and porkpie hat. There’s loud music all night. Spaghetti in the bathtub. Boy flips the dragon for a dog, dragon flashing a thumbs up on the way out. Somebody’s getting conned (okay: mom). Witty and laconic, with classic illustrations.
