A young man and his dog, Tulip, marvel at the farms in Iowa, the skies in Nebraska, the wind in Wyoming, and many more exquisite visions of America the beautiful. Full color.

One Potato Review

Tulip’s the name of the dog, and she is all the company you will need if you are a young boy from Ohio gone looking for America, through Iowa and Nebraska (where “the skies break open into blue and white and yellow and pink, and it is like one great long breath of freedom and air.”) Wanderlust – deeply felt – with further stops in Wyoming and Colorado and Nevada (where the boy does “silly” stuff like running around naked in the desert, but otherwise bypasses Vegas), then Oregon where the reasons for staying finally outweigh to impulse to keep moving on.
