When will I get There? How will I know?
A little girl ponders what the future holds, steadfast in her determination to find out for herself. Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick's gorgeous landscapes and the briefest of text speak to the power of imagination. Readers of all ages will find reassurance in this simple, beautiful book of ruminations about a lifelong journey toward tomorrow.
One Potato Review
What starts out a little bit Beckett (a wall, a sign, the curving earth) turns into an accounting of one girl’s reluctance about the when’s, where’s, and how’s of growing up, though mercifully not the why’s. Maybe there are dragons There (good), maybe no Teddy bears (bad), maybe much knowledge (not clear), but there do appear to be a lot of kind of boring-looking corporate types getting blown There by their umbrellas, so maybe you’d rather choose Elsewhere – for now – where you can be pretty much anything you like. Scenic and sane, with simple, playful text that will probably ring a bell for even the youngest of existentialists.
