Amazon Description

Suddenly my car won't go!

Sputter, Sputter, Sput!

What's the matter? I don't know!

Sputter, Sputter, Sput!

Riding in the car can be lots of fun—going fast and far, uphill and downhill, zooming all over town. But suddenly—with a sputter! sputter! sput!—the car slows down and stops. What can be wrong?

Babs Bell's simple text, complete with all the sounds a car makes, combines with Bob Staake's bright, stylish illustrations to make an enjoyable ride.

One Potato Review

This is what a book for early readers can be, but very rarely is: verbally jolly, and architecturally fascinating even (especially?) for parents who may have to revisit these curling, converging highways many, many times. There’s a lot of really cool stuff to look at here: smokestacks and surprising pyramids, a bird, a robot, a granny leaning over their dashboards, an umbrella taking itself out for a walk. And tricks of perspective and unexpected shading: nobody’s taking anything for granted in these pages. Oh, go on, put down that Dora & Diego.

My son really enjoyed this book.  It was fun to read and the story line was simple.  The illustrations were all right, but not quite my style.
