Amazon Description

When a strangely-coloured ball lands in Hamish's garden one day, he kicks it back into the sky. Young readers can follow its journey through the galaxy in this imaginative story, which explores the possibility of parallel lives in the universe with a rhythmic text full of wit and humour.

One Potato Review

Here’s something weird, and not strictly about aliens so much as the parallel worlds in which we’re inclined to go kicking our balls - from one playing field over, or one galaxy. One day Hamish (maybe Scottish?) is rambling imaginatively across the backyard on his wooden toy train when he finds an otherworldly lots-of-colours orb floating around his paddle pool, and thoughtfully consents to redirect it back through the universe where it makes one felicitous stopover before finding its rightful owner. This is all a little primitive looking, and enigmatic, and open-ended; younger readers may take these leaps of faith in stride, and for everyone else there is at least the liberating consolation of a perfectly executed drop-kick.
