While sleeping, he dreams that the local animals come and make some changes to his painting — Bird adds a bluer sky, Sheep adds a brighter green grass, and Mr. Wolf groups all of them together to add focus.

The landscape artist becomes a portraitist - was it something he saw in a dream? More meta high jinks from this completely original writer and illustrator, whose bug-eyed looking animals always seem to promise they are at least as bewildered as we are. Special guest appearances here by a bird, a hog, a sheep, a wolf and a squirrel who all seem disinclined to go eating each other, but then they’ve got a lot on their minds.
