Children are born with athleticism, a head for math, artistic flair – but a Magnum P.I. mustache? This seems to be a story about managing one’s expectations – the boy of the title embraces his roles as a lawman, a Spanish painter and (less happily) a cereal criminal – though when all is said and done, sometimes a mustache is really only half a beard.
