The Books

One Potato Review

Potatoes and planets and Hong-Kong flu bugs wear glasses, and it doesn’t make them look any dorkier. Although the optometrist here seems almost a little dangerous for his enthusiasm (“I was going to suggest maybe he was putting too much sugar on his cereal…”), this book is finally less persuasive on the subject of glasses than the magic of opening your eyes. Because what a lot there is to talk about when you are willing to imagine little green men in the first place! By the visionary – and always suggestible – Lane Smith.
